Someone I used to know once showed me an eBay listing for a "Jar of Yorkshire air" or something similar which sold for about £30, so not even necessary to fake it perhaps?

I once bought a fake Roman coin when I was on holiday in Bulgaria. It was only afterwards I realised it was fake.
