My library shift project is nearing an end.
Now, I need to return to taping the woodwork in the main floor bedroom, in preparation for a new paint job.
Once the paint job is done, then I pack all the bedroom stuff down from the attic to create the new main floor master bedroom.
And, I just plunked down cash on the faux Persian rug for the new study/library. I think I'm going to have to get a couple of desk lamps, too.

You're such a busy bee! I'm off to Mexico next Friday for 2 weeks. I can hardly wait!

Just two weeks?
Is there no way you can stretch that to, say, ten weeks?
Curious that you should raise the 'bee' motif. I've been thinking of myself more along the 'ant' motif, endlessly lugging discrete packets of knowledge up and down the stairs. The real challenge has been recruiting the indolent to assist me in moving the 'big chunks', the assembled bookcases, down the constrained staircase, hairpin turn in to the narrow hallway, and then straight on to the new location. Luckily, my old boarder and friend, Dave, comes from a family that was in the moving business. He knows all the tricks. And, he's bigger, and distinctly younger, than me.
The way I'm going about this, you'd think I had some kind of writing assignment I'm procrastinating on...

*rolls eyes*
That is a cat holiday, not a human one.
And, it is not yet the twelvth night, neither.
Returning unwanted gifts has no yet made the grade as a recognizable holiday in the US. It is over.

Definitely. We have lots of stuff to do and to pack. And to figure out how to get two prams and baby seats back to Bremen.

You might have actually turned a profit here then Though I'm sure you could have done without the anxiety for that money.

Nope, yesterday was definitely still Christmas. Today is back to normal though. Normal for us wonβt be until mid next week. But then again I donβt have normal. Two weeks things change again. Then February is more changes. π

The rugs came yesterday. I put them in place. Well, the one's in the new library/study. Niiiiiice. They are a nice green with reds and yellows which pick up the drapes.
The runner for the hallway is a bust, though. The thing won't relax from being rolled up. I have it weighted with bags of outbound books.
And, today, former lodger Dave came by and helped me move down the last of the large bookcases. So, all the bookcases are in the library. Now, the book shuffle begins.

Where's the PC?
|
|
|
Post by whollygoats on Jan 13, 2019 4:00:21 GMT
The PC is still at the upstairs desk. It's something of a headache to disassemble, cart downstairs, then reassemble. I'm waiting for veteran assistance. I have irrational fears. Mostly about once it is apart and thought reassembled, that it will need practiced guidance to restart functions. I am NOT a gearhead. (I need a 'hand-holder'.) Swimmer also could not make the old printer work at her new abode, so she upgraded and left me with the unit shown, which is, as yet, unconnected. Thanks...That was the ultimate objective: cozy. I particularly like how well the area rugs 'pull the room together' and make it feel much warmer. The goat abides.... There will obviously be more tweaks on it over time. I've already ordered some books I found 'missing' from the collection, but more trinkets are obviously quite likely. The item in the center of the room is actually a bureau, or dresser. It had the mirror from another room leaning against it when the photo was taken. I originally had thought that I'd put my overstuffed chair and ottoman in there. But, upon reflection, I thought it might be too much. I liked having the bureau in there because it rather functions like a small library table (but it is a bit high). I have a small lightweight desk which is serving as a bedside table upstairs which would make a better library table, and along with another wooden chair (with cushion!) would better serve my interests. Today, I hauled all of Swimmer's 'professional library' down to her place in Mulino today. That pretty much filled the van and included everything in the study before I started moving stuff down there. Two big bookcases chock full of massage/human biology/therapy materials. Now, comes the two smaller bookcases chock full of her writing materials books; but these are upstairs.
