Jo actually lives by the seaside like me but the hills and lakes are not too far away. We have to be content to look at them across Morecambe Bay on a clear day.

Alas I am in Whitehaven which as Biill says is on the coast, not really in the Lakes But I love the fells

Hopefully when I come you'll be up for a little sight-seeing.

Coming from the south, you can pass through a lot of the pretty stuff on the way to Moose's anyway.

Oh we did last time My husband drove us from the east (NewCastle) to Jo's 6 years ago: just beautiful! I like very much the English countryside, stone houses especially.

I think it is amazing that there is such a variety of scenery in such a small island. Every few miles seems to be different.

It is better as a passenger, too. When driving, you are always staring at a strip of tarmac and cars.

I know I missed out on a lot of lovely scenery when I went to Wales a few weeks back. Can't really appreciate it when you can only glance at it for one second at a time. Afterwards, I thought about fitting my camera to my bike, pointing sideways, and leaving it on video record mode.
