Who has injected Dettol today?
It's not even funny any more. Not that it ever much was.

Oh dear, at first I was flabbergasted but now I just take the lighter side because otherwise it would get me down.

Now he's saying it was all a prank. It’s beyond embarrassing.

Gaslighting changes one's perception of reality. In time, he really will think it was a prank.-

I'm still wondering if I should inject the cheap, average disinfectant I have or get some expensive stuff from the chemist. Seriously, though, that was a new low.

The Daily Mail notes that people are taking this seriously but, as ever, it sensationalises the story:

Not to be too much of a pedant about this, but there is no need to drink bleach. Most municipal water systems already add bleach to the drinking water...it's chlorine, folks. Bleach is chlorine and chlorine is bleach. It kills the microscopic life which proliferates in our untreated water. And, it is in such small amounts and dissipates very quickly through evaporation, once it is exposed to the air, so it is a possible, but unlikely, poison to us. Think of your swimming pools, folks. What do they usually smell of? Chlorine. Well, that's because they add chlorine to the water to kill microscopic life. We still immerse ourselves in that water and even ingest it, without too much in the way of negative effects, even though it has several times the amount of chlorine than does ordinary municipal tap water.
Not to dismiss the effects too much, chlorine from the bottle, ingested or injected, will probably kill the nitwit who attempted it. Chlorine added to drinking water or swimming pools is calculated on parts per million. It's diluted rather like homeopathic nostrums are...

Bleach isn't literally chlorine. Chlorine is a greenish gas at room temperature.
Bleach does contain chemical compounds which, when added to water, have the effect of chlorinating that water.
