What did everyone have? Col cooked a very handsome traditional turkey and ham dinner which unfortunately I haven't been able to partake of really as still feeling sick but gonna try and have something cold shortly. What about the rest of you?

Beef Wellington, stuffed chicken roll, stuffing balls, roast potatoes, pigs in blanket, sprouts, carrots, peas and gravy. Amazingly, it all ended up being properly cooked.

Me and the boys shared the cooking. For the non vegetarians, there was chicken breast in stuffing, for the veggies there was a Quorn roast. All accompanied by roast potatoes, roast parsnips, roast carrots, vegetarian haggis, veggie sausages, stuffing balls, sprouts, and home made onion gravy.
It was lush (as they say in these parts π

I'm making chicken pie today. I had a roast chicken on Christmas Day (I was supposed to go stay with family at my sister's place in Wales but was not well enough). And made a chicken pie yesterday!

(I was supposed to go stay with family at my sister's place in Wales but was not well enough). So you were on your own on Christmas Day?

How was it? Mine turned out pretty well (which surprised me to be honest. I'm not very lucky with following a recipe. Generally because I always think I know better than the recipe. Which I do. But not always) Are you feeling better?

Yes, I was on my own on Christmas day - but I survived. Also survived the cold/flu and feeling mostly better now, just still quite tired. I am quite pleased with my chicken pie, which is good because it looks like I'll be eating it for several days! I looked through a few recipes to get the general ideas and then did my own thing. In addition to chicken and bacon, which was already on the roast, I put in leeks, potato and carrot (I'm sure I meant to put in mushroom too but forgot) - and for extra flavouring, mustard (which one of the recipes suggested) and Worcestershire Sauce (because I put it in lots of things).

I spent most of Christmas Day driving the 5+ hours to get to my daughter's place in Rimouski. But once I got there, I had raclette made by my future son-in-law. And wine. Lots and lots of wine

Very good By coincidence, 5+ hours is about the time my parents drove from London to visit my sister's place in west Wales, and which I wasn't able to join.

I end up making that drive (to Rimouski, not London to Wales... ) about once every month or so. I'll be doing it again at the end of January.

Well of course. That's no distance at all for North America.
