I haven't been to Bognor for decades. I remember going to Butlins as a child for the day. I tend to agree with Moose, it certainly had the feel of a POW camp - without the horrors.

It was an okay place to visit, but I'd not like to live there. Took me about 1:45 to get there. It's basically the nearest beach I could get to as it's almost due south of where I live. Happened to be a lovely day, too.

It is what is known as a shingle beach. No sand. Very often groynes are used to keep the sand in place along the coast to improve the beaches and then parts further along suffer as the sand protects the coast from erosion in other places. It is not comfortable to walk along...
