On a complete lark, Swimmer and I tootled over to a relatively nearby breakfast restaurant, Jam.
From my view, Jam is the local eatery at which one might obtain a decent mimosa to accompany a really superb breakfast. I had not been 'out' for breakfast in some time and had a major hankering for Eggs Benedict, in its classic version. As I remembered it, Jam packed a highly qualified Hollandaise and I was eager to sample it again.
It was indeed a pleasure. I know I'm a picky gourmand and the English muffin was over-toasted, making it hard and difficult to cut. The Hollandaise was, indeed, top-rate, which left me thinking that they should have ladled it out with a bit more liberality. Want more. The ham looked to be of the thin-sliced Black Forest variety and very tasty, and the eggs were poached to a tee. The side of hash browns were...obscenely tasty, as I've denied myself potatoes, pasta, and rice for months.
Nothing like a meal that is high on the dietary restrictions list to engender violation of those restrictions.
WooT!

We can't get proper hash browns here anymore it seems .. everywhere, even McDonalds, seems to have removed the onion.

You can buy O'Brian potatoes (with minced bits of bell pepper added) in the freezer case at the food mart, but onions seem to have disappeared due the 'lowest common denominator' metric.
