What do you do with leftover christmas food? I tend to just put it between two slices of bread and dab goo on it (and maybe some chillis), but each to their own. Any favourite recipes?

We don't have much leftover Christmas food this year, just chicken scraps and vegetables. Pat has boiled them all up in the pressure cooker to make stock. Eventually, she will turn it into soup, I think. There is *ahem* some leftover wine, however.

I bought us a bottle of Tia Maria but we are being very sparing with it - one small glass a day - as it was expensive.

I turn the turkey or ham into sandwiches for Cresent rolls. Grey poupon honey mustard, Mayo, and cheddar cheese with ham makes a goo sandwich. This year I didn’t host anything so I did not have left overs.

The careful planner has cooked a balanced amount of food and has enough leftovers of everything to make a complete plate and pop it in the microwave.

I had a bagel and cream cheese for breakfast, and half of a leftover frozen pizza for Christmas dinner. So for leftovers I have 5 more bagels and the rest of my cream cheese.

We do Christmas nibbles rather than a Christmas dinner since I work the evening before and the day of. We do have some leftover nibbles, but the good stuff is gone.

There are all sorts of cream cheese available here. Herb, chives, mushroom (specifically chanterelle) among the standard savoury kinds, and sun-dried tomato, paprika, shrimp, smoked salmon, etc. On the sweet side, blueberry of course, lemon, orange, vanilla, pineapple & almond, and kinusk.

It is “sooooo “very good with blueberry cream cheese. Now, if you get it with a blueberry bagel it will be even tastier too.

Sesame chicken is just as good two days later. Honest.
Fried rice, not so much.

Hmmm... Leftover fried rice can be a bit chewy.

Hmmm... Leftover fried rice can be a bit chewy. And, potentially dangerous.... Bacillus cereus, unless it has been stored properly and reheated for safety.
