Just wondering if anyone did or is. Since I just heard about it this afternoon I don’t even know if it’s done or not.

In between really. I did not watch it but I read about it with varying levels of interest. Bit hard to avoid doing so really. Did you watch it?

I saw a small clip of the actual crowning. No one looked very happy

We watched it all from 10:30am to 2pm with a half hour break around 1:30pm when nothing much was happening. The king and queen's procession from Buckingham Palace started at 10:30am, the service from 11am to 1pm and the procession back to Bucking Palace from about 1pm to 1:30pm. The balcony appearance and red arrows fly-pass started at 2pm. I also watched the highlights on the 10 o'clock news, which included a fair amount of covering of the protesters who were chanting "Not my king" as the procession went by. The service itself was very interesting, with a great deal of symbolism, chanting and singing. The leader of the House of Commons, Penny Mordaunt, took a prominent position in her role as Lord President of the Privy Council, the first woman to have held that position*. *Interesting fact: During the leadership contest after Boris Johnson's resignation, Penny was voted in third position after Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss. A few more votes and she could have been our prime minister instead of Liz Truss. Apparently she was required to carry the sword for a whole hour. He joked about doing press-ups for a while beforehand because it was very heavy. Notably, other faith leaders, Hindu, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, Sikh and leaders of the Catholic Church and non-conformist protestants took a prominent part in the proceedings. Absent were leaders or representatives of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, Mormons and people of no faith. Supermarkets were noticeably full at 3pm as Royalty watches came to the end of the programme.

We watched it with our little guy, who got a bit bored in between, but insisted on watching anyway. That's his screen time for the next three months taken care of, but it was a special occasion.

I was interested to read that they took William and Kate's five year old. That's a LONG ceremony for a kid that age.

I had no clue when it came on nor did anyone in my family. I’m assumed it was over the weekend from this morning news lip a heard. I went to my family farm and my parents, aunts and uncles, cousins all played games and did outdoor activities so if it was the weekend I had no clue at the time.
I did catch a clip this morning that said the rating were down on it or something. Since when we’re rating a thing for a coronations?

I don't know I do recall that a lot of people bought their first TV to watch Elizabeth's coronation.

Now Elizabeth’s sounded like it was interesting. I see that they have went in and colorized it for us to see.
