I ordered a tin of this and it came today. It's the proper stuff, not the stuff they sell in supermarkets, all covered in rose petals and nuts and crammed with all sorts of things. Nice Very different to the TD I am used to though.

Good Turkish delight is good. Delightful, even.

It's called Greek Delight in Greece because the Greeks are not on good terms with the Turks.

It's probably not called Greek Delight in Greece because they don't make a habit of speaking English there.
Similarly it's probably not called Turkish Delight in Turkey.

I think it's called a version of "loukum" in both Turkish and Greek

On holiday in 1996 on the the Greek island of Cos, we were told rather firmly that it was Greek delight. That summer, Greece and Turkey were technically at war with each other over ownership of an uninhabited island. For the previous so many years, the two countries would conduct hostile actions over the island in the winter before patching up their differences for the holiday season. Or so we were told. Things might be different today. There is or was also a dispute over Cyprus with the Greeks inhabiting the southern part and the Turks laying claim to the northern part. When we were on holiday in the Greek part, we were only allowed to visit Kyrenia in the north on condition the tour rep could guarantee we would return the same day. Moreover, if inhabitants left the Turkish sector they were not allowed to return to their home. From Wikipedia, Greece-Turkey relations: Please note: information conveyed by holiday reps is sometimes subject to elaboration. ETA: A video on the Cyprus situation

It's called Greek Delight in Greece because the Greeks are not on good terms with the Turks. 🤣 Alrighty then. People! To me this sounds so stupid. Power plays and all too.
