Joost Klein has been disqualified from the Eurovision Song Contest after a 'backstage incident'. The performer has been sent home after an allegation of intimidation was made to Swedish police by a female member of the production crew. Swedish police say that a man had been reported for making "unlawful threats" at Malmö Arena, after Thursday's semi-final. Early reports suggested there had been antagonism between Klein and Israel's contestant, as feelings run high over the Israel-Gaza war but we do not know the motive at this stage. www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-68993726ETA: Organisers stressed that "contrary to some media reports and social media speculation, this incident did not involve any other performer or delegation member".

Also in Eurovision news, northern Europe is well represented: Norway, Sweden (the hosts), Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are all in the finals. Not Iceland or Denmark though.

He says that he repeatedly asked the woman to stop filming as they all agreed that the press wouldn't be allowed to film there and she didn't listen or adhere to the set rules. The Dutch team, upon the decision of the organisation to suspend Joost Klein, refused to give the points in solidarity, hence the Eurovision boss having to go up and do so
