I HATE TALKING TO CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS, ESPECIALLY THOSE THAT DO NOT SPEAK ENGLISH. And this was an online chat, as it seemed that someone had been trying to buy things from my Amazon account, even though my card was cancelled last week (the order was declined). This took me over an hour and I had to speak to two different people as the first had no idea what was going on and just kept giving me generic answers.
I don't have a problem with people not speaking English. I DO have a problem with super rich companies like Amazon paying people who do not speak English jack shit to not help people.

Yes, I know, it's horrible. Not so long ago, I spoke to someone from my bank who had a strong accent about a security issue - someone was trying to take a £50 subscription from my account - and ended up paying a visit to my local branch in Stockport instead. The bank was vigilant and declined the payment before I realised so the bank did take care of my money but I was really annoyed I couldn't speak to them on the phone. All other times, they have had people with very clear voices. I complained to them and they said they'd mark my account as someone who needs a person with a clear voice. I really hope they don't think I'm racist.

Here it happens that when I call a Dutch customer service for a Dutch product I get routed to a non-native English speaking person from (most of the time) India. I have nothing against India or English, but when I'm calling a Dutch company for a Dutch product I want to be able to talk to a Dutch speaking person who's actually familiar with the product and who can solve my issue. Now the latter 2 demands are probably too difficult, but the first one at least should be doable?

I nearly put in a complaint when I was asked for feedback but then I felt mean cos I don't want to cost someone their job just because their English is not good. This is really on Amazon and not the worker.
