You didn't lose Molly, Molly left the house without your permission. It's quite a different thing though the result is the same. I hope she comes back soon.

Me too. I put a bowl of food on the window sill but it's all gone. Unfortunately, it wasn't Molly who ate it.

I am worried that she won't come back. We hadn't really bonded though she would let me pet her. She has had some many different homes in the last eighteen months - I will spare you the details - that I doubt she feels any attachment to this one and she does not like Pip at all.

Well hopefully she will come home when she is hungry. It is worrisome though. If she doesn't feel attached to any home she might not be trying to get to any "home" but if she knows you will feed her hopefully she will come back.

I really hope so . I will leave the living room window open all night tho that's prolly a bit dodgy given that it's Friday night and it tends to get a bit lively round here. There is food out too

I fully expect her to return at 6 o'clock in the morning and demand food.

I don't think I realised quite how much I'd grow attached to her till I held her again

I'm glad Molly's back safe and sound. Was she caught in the rain? Cats are wonderful pets. My younger brother Aarham became very interested in cats and I picked up a kitten from my friend who was donating some. Taking a leaf out of your book I thought I'd call him Gandalf The Grey but Aarham was having none of it and named him Tom. Tom spent all night crawling up onto my lap despite me repeatedly putting him in his basket but he kept on coming back to me. I suppose it was because I was warm and it was a cold winter's night. I lined his basket with a very old jumper of mine but he crawled into bed with me, under my blanket and I woke up the next morning to Tom curled up on my neck. It was adorable. Unfortunately I had to go to school and by the time I got back the house was in an uproar - he had done his business all over the place. My mum made us return him because he just wouldn't use the litter box and was used to going outside into the garden to relieve himself. Since we live on the 4th floor and don't have a garden he felt very out of place. We had Tom for just one day but we both got very attached to him and still visit him at my friend's whenever we can.

Aw ... it can take a little while to get a cat to use a litter tray but they generally do get the hang of it I hope you get another some time!

Tinker used to keep going to the toilet on my stairs for a long time, but I managed to get him to go in the tray eventually. My main concern was that Honey was acting as clean-up crew, which can't have been good for her, but hard to stop with her bizarre, built-in instincts.

She and Pip are generally ignoring one another albeit with a bit of glaring

It's a good sign she came back. She must see it as home now.

Our two cats had a love-hate relationship. Cleo adored Misty, Misty despised Cleo but tolerated her.

I would prefer that they were friends but I will live with an absence of general hostility
