Am sitting in the bar working, only there are no guests. Just had a thunderstorm (again) and a lot of rain. The streets resemble whirlpools and our cellar is full of water.

You've had that problem before. Perhaps Bremen needs to relocate itself further away from the river.

The problem isn't the river, that didn't overflow. It was just way too much rain within a very short time.

Him, that's tough. I don't suppose you could barricade it with sandbags.

No. We spent the morning with the neighbours, scooping the water out of the cellar. As did about one third of the city.

I guess there's cold comfort in not being alone. Are your neighbours going to hold a cellar party when it's all done?

That kinda sucks. I hope you didn't have anything non water proof in there.

Sorry to hear about that Kaylee - are you expecting more rain or is the risk over? (Let's hope)

Amsterdam had a month's worth of rain in a couple of hours two days ago. Here everything was normal.

The weather is just awful. It's some deliberate ploy to give me 5 years worth of winter in one year since we won't be having any more of them in future (hopefully). The world is out to get me.

Well, that's just plain evil. Why should the rest of us suffer because of your bad footing with Dutch weather? >_<

Misery loves company. The world isn't fair. Blame all those carbon emissions heating up our atmosphere, causing global warming and the polar ice caps to melt, therefore pushing cold air down into Europe.

Today there is a tiny bit of sunshine. But we have the heating on again.
