Oh yes ... the weight and volume of baby things far exceeds that of the actual baby for quite a while.

944 449 Some people leave their hats and scarves in the pub, some people leave their jumpers in church but... not many people leave their belts in the gym

Looks like a lovely spot your daughter is moving to, but too cold. I wonder how they'll enjoy the country life. Sometimes I think wouldn't it be nice, but only for a few seconds and then I think of everything I'd miss, and not having a driving license, how I'd get around. And when I do go out into the country I get annoyed with the humans and the lack of good food. Of course there are exceptions - Beechworth is a wonderful foodie, small country town for example. But better to visit over a weekend then to live there.

Yeah, it wouldn't suit me either. I just hope it lives up to her expectations!

Oooh lots of 4s!
I guess the good thing is they're renting, so they're not locked in the way they'd be if they purchased a place.

944 440 Pat attended a funeral today in her capacity as verger. "Did it go alright," I asked afterwards. "No," she replied, "someone died."

944 437 Apparently, when someone dies *at* the funeral, it can be pretty hard on the family! I suppose if it's early enough, you can always just scoop them up and into the coffin, if there's enough room for two!

Hm, you would have to organise an additional eulogy, which might be tricky.

You could say what a wonderful person they were to selflessly minimise their funeral costs!

Our lounge curtains have been giving us problems for several months now. The end stop on the righthand end of the curtain rail has come off and the curtain rail manufacturer has changed the design of the curtain rail so we can't buy a new one. I tried taping the old one in position but it kept coming off, and half the curtain almost dropping to the floor. I had almost resigned myself to buying a new curtain rail (and all the hooks and brackets that go with it) when Pat suggested a rubber band! And it works by magic, well not exactly magic, more like a combination of elastic forces and friction. But one rubber band has saved me a lot of time and money.

Duck tape is the answer... if not, WD40!

Rubber bands can be quite useful. We use one to stop our toilet door rattling in the wind.

Twice in one day an emergency vehicle tried to cut me up at traffic lights. On the way to the supermarket, I started to go through traffic lights on green when an ambulance suddenly appeared, started his siren and tried to cut across my path. I had a fraction of a second to react, decided I couldn't brake in time to give him a clear run, and then accelerated across the junction as quickly as I could.
And then, coming back from the supermarket, at the very same junction, a police car did exactly the same thing. It was quite unnerving.

Sounds like the emergency services need some refreshers on driving. They shouldn't be causing more accidents!

I saw one yesterday that didn't sound their siren until they were almost on top of some other road users. The blue lights do not make them very visible on very sunny days!

Came home to find the cats had attempted some story time by pulling out about a half dozen books from the bookshelf. Robin Hob and Phillip Pullman so good taste.

You're just a sucker for punishment.
And I don't know about Robin Hobb. I balled my eyes out after reading the last Fitz and Fool book.

Most of my time in the gym is spent in the sauna. As punishment goes, it's quite pleasant.
