944 330 ... somewhere in the middle. Saudi Arabia?

India is probably more in the middle. But when thinking about middle in terms of meet ups, you really have to think about where the plane goes. Gina was saying something about Africa, but that requires us to fly first to Perth and then South Africa and then on to somewhere, or fly to Middle East and then on to Africa so actually it takes longer than going to Europe. So the only realistic options are Asia somewhere or North America. I think it will be Asia. Cheap and direct flights for everyone.

I'm halfway through rebuilding a shed for a friend. Yesterday I applied wood preserver to all the bits that can't be seen (but can still get damp) before I put all the pieces together. I was very tired afterwards.
Oh, and Joe called in to see us in the afternoon and we had a meal in the Ring O Bells.

That's true! And tangent left half way through and went home again! He came back though.
I also went to Bradford to see my sister and (after we'd already got food) found another Ring O Bells pub. One of the closest to her house.

And where is everyone else?
I had a mulled wine last night at the pub - was nice though a little on the sweet side. It was good weather for it, cold and wet.

944 323 Clearly everyone else is on holiday without internet access. Not yet but I will be in three weeks time. We've just booked a holiday in Cyprus. The local travel agent had recently told me that the holiday insurance company they recommend would not insure anyone with a hernia. That might have been false information because the insurance company I am currently with said it wouldn't be a problem (they would cover the condition without extra charge). A good reason to stick with them.

Good to hear! Both the helpful insurance and the booking of the holiday.

We have a holiday booked in October down the Great Ocean Road for a week. Looking forward to that though I will miss my kitties.

We went to Cuba ten years ago and the hotel had PAYG internet access (at a very slow speed via a satellite link). America refuses to lay an underwater cable between Florida and Havana and so Cuba is relying on its connection to Venezuela. I thought when that was established internet access was going to improve but apparently not.

944 316 You can still buy an hour's worth of crappy internet there for 1 peso (about 1.40 CAD) but I didn't feel the need.

Use lots of vocal inflection when you talk (rather than speaking in a low pitched monotone). That will relieve the stress on your vocal chords. (Offered by a former voice teacher...)

Does that help if the talking isn't the primary cause, but getting a cold is (possibly)?

Yes it will help. Also, drink some warm liquid periodically (non alcoholic).

Anyway I seem to have survived without getting a serious sore throat. I have no idea if my students were bored on the second two sessions, because it was remote over Skype and I could only see the slides I was using.
