One reason for the slowness of progress is that the Forum is smaller than when the thread started - survivors post faster!

Good for her! We're moving into higher gear in Montreal. Now they're taking appointments for the 70+ I keep trying to figure out if it's by birthyear (in which case, I'd be eligible) or birthday (in which case I'll have to wait until July). No one seems to know the answer and I don't want to wait on hold with the government to find out!

I really hope that you will hear soon. My vaccination was almost three weeks ago (see 943 183) so I should be up to about 60% protection by now - but this district has one of the lowest infection rates in the country anyway 26 persons per 100 000: so there is good reason to be positive.
Saw a nice meme on Ingur this morning - from a Texan following their Governor's decision : "You'll have to prise my mask from my frozen corpse". I think the poster may not be a Republican ... ...

Lovely to hear, Kye.
My daughter Deborah had her first vaccine this morning. She is disabled and vulnerable and we are delighted she was able to receive it. After the vaccine she visited a new supermarket near where we live and had a whale of a time, and buying up the shop.

Nice! But doesn't the protection only kick in 2 weeks after the shot?

I got my Covid shot --it was absolutely painless. The nurse really knew what she was doing!

943 117 Excellent Data from Israel suggests immunity is only partial two weeks after the first shot and reaches maximum effect only after three weeks.

You know, that thought actually crossed my mind! But the injection site is pretty sore this morning, so I'm sure something went in there.

I don't think that the delay in effectiveness is a surprise - it was in the original published data for both Pfizer and Oxford A-Z vaccines, surely.

An unusually profitable day today for me. I've taken some books and an old carpet to the tip, I've mended a standard lamp and I've bought some bread. And it's only 2:30pm. Most days, I only manage to get out of bed and eat a couple of meals so today is a good day. Now to go to the hardware shop and buy a couple of light bulbs.

Yes, he was said to be both a Christian missionary and bishop in Ireland, and was known as the Apostle of Ireland.
