We hit 37 degrees yesterday.

Really? That's a lot hotter than it's ever been here. (By 'here', I mean Manchester; Kent, on the south coast, holds the UK record at 38.5°C in 2003.)

I just heard there's a heat wave going on in Europe.

32 here now, but today there's a nice breeze which wasn't there yesterday.

I just heard there's a heat wave going on in Europe. France especially is particularly worried - in 2003, 15,000 people died as a result of a heat wave.

Today, we have mostly cloudy skies. There are rumors of storms, but as yet, all we have is outdoor temperatures warmer than indoors and increased humidity. It's 'muggy'.
ETA: So, it's early evening and the storm is rolling through. It is a gullywasher of a thunderstorm and it is doing the whole lightning and windgusts thang, too. My lights, and PC, are flashing on and off, so the strikes are close enough to make a difference.
I haven't seen raindrops that size in some time, either....
ETAA: Heh...The lights are flashing on and off still. It looks like we're slated for a half inch of rain in the next couple of hours. Not 'amazing', but significant for here.

Cool! I love thunderstorms!

Yeah, me, too. They are relatively rare in these parts. Particularly with lightning. This one is bigtime. The indoor lighting effects are quaint.
Plus, around here, under those conditions, when the rain starts, and they're as torrential as these, the temperature drops ten to fifteen degrees Fahrenheit, so it is cooler, which I appreciate.

You have a new citizen in your neck of the woods WG. My NZ friend who currently lives in Portland just gave birth.
Weather here is lovely for winter. Sunny, 17 degrees, lots of blue skies.

I'm having one of my days where I feel like I've been run over. Can't stand the heat and going outside feels awful! It's 27c indoors at the moment, which is about the most I can deal with well. I've forced my computer to run at minimum speed, to not contribute to the heat, too!

25°C is my limit for being able to do anything useful indoors.

It's 28.5 in my office at the moment. I like it at that temperature --it's not quite hot enough to turn on the AC.

28.5°C? Definitely too hot for me.

28 degrees in doors sounds pretty nice. You don't get cold that way.
It's cold here. Well right now it's sunny and 17 but the nights are chilly and I've got the heating going most evenings.

Well. Here I keep mine on about 23 degrees. Today is supposed to be 36 degrees outside. Which for this time of year is cooler than normal.

Oh no! There has been no weather for at least a week if this thread is anything to go by! Fortunately today is nice. A bit coldish perhaps, but that gives the house time to cool down.

Alaska is enjoying/suffering a heat wave at the moment, depending on your point of view. Fort Yukon is a town just inside the Arctic Circle and has a forecast maximum of 29° to 31°C over the next few days.
Not exactly record breaking temperatures, though. Fort Yukon recorded 37°C in 1915, at a time when temperature gauges for a town of 600 people were perhaps a little less reliable.

For me, anything over 26 C, or so, is too hot. My indoor temp is kept at or near 20 C and my favorite outdoor temperature is 22 C, and overcast.
We've been having some idyllic weather for gardening, including a light rain yesterday afternoon...one that wet the street, but not under the trees.
In such weather, I should be out in the garden pulling weeds. Of late, I've lost a whole shipload of motivation and I'm sleeping about ten hours a day in multiple shifts.
Sloth and indolence reign.

I'm happy with 30°C or more when I'm on holiday and not very far away from an air-conditioned hotel.
