Not sunny today, but hot and humid! How hot? I have not seen a forecast above 20°C for Whitehaven recently. Have you moved?

Sheep graziers warning and strong winds for us. Gales, blizzards, blustery winds are the terms Paul has been using as I type.

Not sunny today, but hot and humid! The temperature in Whitehaven at 5pm yesterday evening was 15°C, according to the BBC website. I wouldn't call that particularly hot.

We need the BBC to do a reporter-on-location piece from Moose & Col's house.

Has the heat wave broken? Or, is it still hot with the rain?
Here, it rains. Real rain, not our usual dry rain.

It's down to about 20 degrees outside, 25 inside, but the humidity was making it still very uncomfortable.

Humidity is always the worst of it, from my view. I've been in Las Vegas at 103 F (40 C) and it was not really all that bad. We went for a stroll on the Strip. Whereas, at 85 F (29 C) in Washington, DC, or Nashville, Tennessee, or Houston, Texas, is insufferable and makes me want to take refuge in deeply air conditioned spaces.
That said, it rained here this morning and it is quite humid. But, it's, like, 18 C. Niiiiice. I turned off the house thermostat and opened the doors.
Hot and humid is blessedly rare here. Usually, when it rains in the warm season, temperatures drop from ten to twenty degrees Fahrenheit.

Hot and humid is blessedly rare here. As climate change takes hold later this century, there will be areas of the world where, for a few weeks of the year, the combination of heat and humidity make it impossible for human life to exist without air conditioning. In those conditions, dowsing oneself with water and standing in a breeze will not stop the body overheating, and people will die within a few hours.

There is no 'later this century'. It is happening NOW.

Too many people treat it as a problem for the future generations. Why put in all that effort to save something that's not going to benefit you personally?

It's a problem now.
One of our politicians thinks that climate change and the world heating up is better than freezing.

One of our politicians thinks that climate change and the world heating up is better than freezing. London could feel as hot as Barcelona by 2050, says the BBC, with Edinburgh's climate more like Paris, Leeds feeling like Melbourne and Cardiff like Montevideo. This is what we can look forward to in 2050. Reality Check

It's gone cold again here. I had to rush buy long sleeved shirts and pants for the little one. I didn't expect her to grow out of size 62 this fast, nor did I expect that when she did the weather would have turned cold again.

16 C and occasionally rain. I cycled to the church for the weekly walk but thought "nobody will come as it's drizzling". Only the walk leader will be there. This time it was a vicar, she looked like 20 years old but she must be at least 25. But we were a group of seven women walking in the drizzle.

The forecast is 38° in London. I remember being in the north of the Kruger Park in South Africa and it being that hot, and knowing that was exceptionally hot for South Africa.
