Apparently this particular individual acted in order to promote violence between ethnic communities ... an appalling concept ...

One always fears copycat actions.
I went swimming at the gym yesterday. I think regulations say that a lifeguard must be present at all times. But the young lady who was on duty - an 18-year-old girl - was bored out of her tiny mind* since there were only three swimmers for most of the evening and they were all adults.
A notice was displayed outside the changing rooms saying that the showers will be out of action for the next six weeks while they are being renovated. Twenty showers (male and female) at a cost of £145k! How can you spend £145k renovating twenty showers!!! Unlike the old gym I belonged to last year, they do not require us to share changing facilities with the ladies during the next six weeks. But we are allowed access to the two showers in the family area.
* That's a well-known phrase or saying and is not meant to be derogatory or to indicate her level of intelligence... although with a job like that, it might indicate her future level.

I am back from my long weekend in Lennox Head. I'm waiting for the property manager to hurry up and drop in as he's supposed to be doing an inspection of our place for the landlord. He said between 9-11am and it is now 10:57....

I may be a miserable old B***er but I do not see why professional standards should be so slack in other fields of activity - can you imagine what would happen if I said 'I will take your granny's funeral for you but I might turn up a bit late if it suits me'.

944 800 My team leader said he'd phone me on Friday 3pm. He finally called on Tuesday at 11 ish. I had a baby 4 days ago, I would appreciate a bit of punctuality.
But yeah, Utrecht. They still aren't completely sure it's a terrorist action. It's different from new Zealand though since the victims weren't specifically Muslim and the killer wasn't white. So not a copycat.

944 790 Saw my doc this afternoon. I realise now that if she says, "If you feel poorly over the weekend, go straight to A&E," it's best not to reply with, "Are you sure about that?" *sigh* Here we go again

Aha - yes: Dutch provincial election results this week - the Forum for Democracy is a Trumpite party similar to UKIP and have done well in the elections in North and South Holland and in Flevoland. They are climate change deniers and are in favour of the Netherlands leaving the EU.
Pretty poor show really.

Oh gee, thank goodness we're not there any longer. That might be why Flevoland voted that way. Ronald's parents also no longer live there.

944 782 He also has pretty bad ideas about immigration, but weirdly enough many immigrants voted for him. My mum spoke to one and was surprised about his vote. Turns out he didn't know most of Forum views barring one that he liked. It's parties with good oneliners that get the votes even though their complete views are despicable. And many of the respectable parties only know how to speak intellectually. That's not what 90% of the voters understand or want to hear.
