Indeed, the sea temperature in the UK must have been 18°C at least.

944 266 I screwed it up. Really. The student who did the chairing for the next session was much less prepared and yet did it so much better. Am avoiding the two speakers now, plus two of the three lecturers who are supervising this and who were there to witness it.

Ah, good. How do you know you screwed up and does it really matter? Will anyone remember it next week?

944 261 That's a shame, Elis, but few people are able to lead discussions well, so I wouldn't feel too bad about it.

Some days. Had a massage today. Needed it after the crazy morning.

I could do with a massage - my back and shoulders and neck are in pain.

Me too! I miss the days when my daughter was working as a massage therapist (although she hated it when her friends and family asked for free massages!)

944,243.
I bet she did. I asked the guy that was doing mine yesterday if you ever wire out. Hi reply was pretty cool. He squad, “It’s Gods gift.” I though that was the best answer I’ve heard from a massage therapist ever.
Took the day and did whatever I wanted. After that last test I took, stress melted away.

944 242 In a restaurant near the top of the second highest mountain in Cyprus, I found that the 4G signal was three times faster than the signal at home. Hmph

A few years ago, we visited Crete and I noticed local inhabitants had a great deal of difficulty repeating my name. Today, I have been investigating writing my surname with Greek letters and realize two of the sounds have no equivalent in Greek: a short O and a hard G. No wonder Greek speakers had difficulty. But I have been able to make an approximation:
Ωγκλι (Omega, gamma, kappa, lambda, iota)
Unfortunately, when I showed this to a Greek waiter at our hotel, he pronounced it Ongli. Where exactly does the n come from?

Maybe your gamma γ looked like a nu ν?

944 249 No, I typed it on my phone. And when I type it into Google Translate, Google romanises it to Onkli. Huh

944 248 Possibly because your idea of a hard g is different from a Greek one (and a Dutch one). In Dutch it would be impossible to place a k after a g since that would result in two glottal sounds.

944 242 Before going away, I hid the car keys so that a burglar couldn't steal the car and now I can't find them I've looked all over the place. Fortunately, we lost an old spare key several weeks ago and Pat has been able to find that but the new ones are nowhere to be seen. And they cost £150 each to replace The car's hardly worth that much.
