Waiting on the storms brought by the typhoon which landed south of here on Monday. It's windy; it's hot; it's humid. Heavy rain can't be far away...

Yeah, it's fairly normal to get the fallout from the typhoons in the region. August is always the thunderstorm month. Only once recently did the typhoon hit land around here but it quickly headed east again to South Korea, so the damage was minimal. If one is coming, everything is closed and locked down. Even the stray dogs go into hiding

Day two of a heat wave. Here temps are at 103°F (~39°C). High temps are expected to exceed 90°F (~32°C) for the next week.
Today is expected to be the hottest of the heatwave, with forecast temps at 106°F (~40°C). Humidity, however, is at 16%.

Also part of 'the weather' is the situation in British Columbia. That is wildfire smoke filtering out of central British Columbia, where huge wildfires rage. This is a satellite photo centered on Seattle and the Puget Sound area of the Pacific Northwest. I live in the southerly portion of that photo, and, as of this point in time, we are experiencing minor haziness in the air quality, but enough to trip the alarms for those with respiratory conditions.

Later this century, some south Asian countries are likely to experience a combination of hot and humid weather in which it is impossible to exist for more than a few hours. Wet bulb temperatures* of 35°C or more prevent perspiration from cooling the body down to normal body temperature and are lethal. * A wet bulb thermometer is a normal thermometer that is wrapped in a sock that is kept wet with distilled water.

The weather has got very chilly again. But spring is not so far off now. Finally we are in the last winter month.
I forget what latitude Amsterdam is, but probably something simmilar to tangent. Glad to be back in Melbourne in that regard - both for the weather and the lack of looong summer days and loooong winter nights. I'm not of a fan of either.

Amsterdam is about the same latitude as London I think ... so miles (HUNDREDS of miles) south of Tangent.
Actually no, it's about half-way between - 52°.

High overcast and continuing high temperatures, but at least the high temps have dropped about ten degrees Fahrenheit.
Torpor is widespread. Crankiness is on the rise locally.

Yesterday was lovely, today will be too, then it's back to Autumn-y kind of weather.

It is still cloyingly warm, even though daily high temps are now closer to 30°C than 40°C.
I would truly enjoy a couple of days of rain, but it is not in the reliable forecast future.
ETA: It has not rained since the day I arrived home, June 21, the Summer Solstice. Now 47 days here in Puddle City without rainfall. The puddles have long dried up.

Ah, yes. I can see you in the lower half of the right side of the picture. *points at goat-shaped beige thingy*

We had spring weather for a couple of months, now we're having fall weather. I think we had 2 days of summer.

Still hot, dry, and sunny with an admixture of forest fire smoke. Daily high temperatures run at about 32°C to 36°C
Rumor has it that it might rain this weekend. We're all anticipating hopefully....
