21 C, humidity 39%, drizzle It is "fruntimmersveckan" (woman's week) which according to old peasant tradition is rainy.
"Fruntimmer" is a somewhat disparaging word for "woman" (the neutral word is "kvinna" cf. "queen"). This week six weekdays in a row had female namedays (Sara, Margareta, Johanna, Magdalena, Emma, Kristina).

Compared to 'feels like 47', that sounds idyllic, tangent.

Yes, I can cope with 13°C much more easily than 47°C.

Still cold here. Waiting for winter to be over. But I comforted myself today with the thought that if I were sitll in NL, and it was middle of January, it would be horrendously worse and much, much darker. That cheered me up some. Shows how confusing maps can be. I always thought that Australia was farther south than it is and not nearer to the equator than the Netherlands. Must be nice to have less extremes at both ends of the seasons. Funny you should say that because I had the exact same thing in the opposite direction! I did not realise how far away from the equator all of Europe was. Although I'm not sure about less extremes on the summer end of the season. We get 40C degree days in summer, even here on the coast. Go a bit inland and you'll die in the summer.

We had 30 to 40 degrees all week. It was too hot to really do anything. We went up the mountain and spent a couple of days at the lake. At least that was bearable. I loved the temps on the mountain though! Clean, fresh air and about 21 degrees or so.
Back here in Dutchland it's about 20 degrees and cloudy/rainy.

Mid-30s today but it's uncomfortably humid. Raining now, not much but enough to free the air. Feeling hungry. Time for dinner

Low 20s here. Nice.
It tends to be overcast until about noon and sunny thereafter.

Rainy can be nice. Particularly after a long dry spell.
We are in the midst of a particularly long dry spell here in Puddle City. It has not rained since I returned home.

Again, warm outside, but rainy. Tomorrow's barbecue has been cancelled. Too windy to attempt the party tent.

It's another sunny day of sipping iced tea (*tinkle, tinkle, tinkle*), reading, and wandering aimlessly in the garden.
High Risk behavior is planned for this evening, so a modest amount of housecleaning is in order....after my midday nap.
It has just been pointed out to me that forecasters are predicting temperatures in excess of 30 degrees Celsius for the next week, racheting up to a high of 40 degrees on Wednesday. A heat wave. 40 degrees (104 F) is pretty extreme for Puddle City. I may have to hide in the basement.

We had extremely windy weather here yesterday. Very warm though, it was all coming from the north and made the temperature very warm for what should be the coldest time of the year. It was 19C yesterday! Was neither so windy, nor so warm today but was still quite mild. In the middle of the day while sitting at a cafe enjoying some cake in the sun I even sat in my t-shirt, minus any long sleeves!

What is the latitude there, Raz?
I am located only seconds off the 45th parallel. North, of course. So I'm almost exactly half way from the equator to the North Pole.
Farther Kye, in Montreal, is south of me....by seconds.
I'm pretty sure that everyone in the UK is to our north. Latitudinally. And northern Urp, too.
Yep...Looking at a map, I'm roughly equivalent, latitudinally, to Bordeaux.

So...Since our antipodeans are probably still asleep, I looked Melbourne up. It's just about 38 degrees south.
That's latitudinally on par with San Francisco, Madrid, Barcelona, Rome, Istanbul, Tashkent, and Beijing.
ETA: And Jayme.

Is there a quick cheat on a standard keyboard for a degree mark?

ETA: Ignore. I found an easier way.
If you have a keyboard icon at the lower right of your screen, click on that. Then, when a keyboard pops up on your screen, click on the &123 key. Then, you still have to search by clicking on a > key, and then you will find °.
That's the hard way. I don't know the easy way.

°
I did that ^ by holding down the Alt key while typing 0176. Much easier.
It says if you have a Mac, option shift 8.

I had a nice day here, too. The high was only 28°. The only disappointing thing is that my clothes are hanging out on the line, and I don't think they'll dry before dark.

It is presently 35°C at 4 pm locally. This is the maximum temperature forecast for today.
The circuit breaker which the A/C unit in the upstairs window is on has tripped and that circuit is currently non-functional. It doesn't seem to affect much else, but I assume there are some lights around the house which are temporarily non-functional. This happens because the A/C works too hard to meet the unrealistic expectations I have programmed in to it and overwhelms the electrical circuit attempting to do it. It's just like 'blowing a fuse'; all I need do is traipse to the basement and throw the switch. But, doing that now will just necessitate yet another trip to the basement to repeat the operation. Soon. So....I wait until after dark (about four hours off), when temperatures have fallen enough, THEN throw the switch to restart the window insert A/C unit. In the interim, the house heat pump will have to try to keep the second floor from going all 'heat sink'.
At least my situation is no where near as bad as my garret in the 13th century roadhouse in Whittlesford Parkway.
Temps are expected to increase by five degrees over the next two days, to ~ 40°C, before a slow cooling trend.
