It's so beautiful here today! Took a two hour walk earlier and I couldn't imagine more perfect weather. It's sunny, but not hot and there's a glorious breeze blowing. So many lovely little wildflowers blooming along the paths I was walking on. And birds singing - I even saw a Baltimore oriel. And a snake!

High of 31°C (that's 87 in old money) and a trip to the beach beckons once I get the kids sorted out

25 C in the sheltered garden, 22 C outside. And it is too hot to sleep. And forest fires.

Today was freezing! I guess winter decided to come two days early. Very icy cold air coming home this evening.

About + 12 C and raining here. Wonder how the weather is in London? I think it is warmer but if it rains it is not warm enough anyway. Packing for both cold and rainy and hot and sunny.

It's been pretty warm - not as warm as the Dutch report! But getting cooler in the past day or so. About 15-16 today.
It looks like the forecast is to get warm again - 21-23! - but quite cloudy for the next week.

How cold is cold where you are, RB? Apparently yesterday was the coldest day since last September, it reached about 11 C. But that's the high, it was lot colder coming home. I think the low was around 6 or 7 C. It will get a bit colder over June, July and August.

Does it snow in the winter?

Kye, it depends where you are. It snows in the mountain areas a bit inland and even on Mount Dandenong at times which is on the outskirts of the suburbs, but it's extremely rare for any snow to fall on Melbourne. We're right by the sea. For people like yourself, you mostly wouldn't find it so cold - until you get one of those days when the wind suddenly decides to shift and come from the Arctic (there is nothing between the Arctic and southern Australia) and it's middle of winter and wet - and then people get surprised at how cold it is.

I often find I feel the coldest at around 0 C, when it's damp and windy. *shudder*

I'm very happy we bought a house with shutters. It keeps the house so much cooler. Outside the temperature is nice, but I just hate sleeping in degrees over 21.

We had to buy an extra heater. Tháts the only downside to these older apartments - not very good insulation. Plus they only tend to have heating in the living room. Now we have a panel heater in the bedroom too.

Is only the third time I've been out in two months but it was fine .. jsut went to local shop, bought a cheap lemon cake and a hotdog (new shop has started doing hotdogs - this might motivate me to get out more often lol) and came back but it was okay

16 C, windy and rainy. Last week I was in London and it was warm and sunny. So I have to associate London with warmth and sun instead of coldness and rain.

It was comfy temps but raining buckets when I left Haydon Bridge ghis morning, but warm and stultifyingly humid when I reached Telford this afternoon.
I hope the humid blows off tonite, so my attendance at the RAF Aishow is not an uncomfortable event for me. Humidity is the pits for me...literaly. And damp shorts, too. It makes me moist and cranky. You do not want to be around me when I am in that state.

Here is a map of Australia comparing the climate to different regions of the world. I'm apparently in a climate similar to the San Francisco Bay area. Which is funny because that always seems like a much colder area to me based on descriptions. Never having been, can't say for sure. Certainly it has a reputation as being very foggy which we don't get that much of here.
