I hate geese. They are noisy, territorial and make a mess. Also, aggressive. It's currently not raining here which is a bit of a change from the last 3 days.

Plus, around here, the farmers hate the Canucks because they pluck up all sorts of starts. A persistent flock can denude an area of greenery in a relatively short time.
Luckily, the ones I'd spied were a good four hundred feet up and intent on their southbound travel.

They're a feature of Marple canals and lakes where children feed them copious amounts of dubious food. As a result, they're quite friendly with humans and don't even worry about well-behaved dogs, although they roost well away from us in secluded fields.

Yes, we're on the flyway between the Canadian north and the wintering grounds. Of course, since the weather here is fairly moderate, many of the illegal aliens have taken up surreptitious year-round residence in many public parks and private stubblefields. They are not particularly welcome in public parks because of their tendency to defecate en masse with no aim.

I was awakened by rumpus cats well before dawn. They wanted to go out, but not stay out. It was noisy with wind chime clatter at that hour; a front passing through, kicking up winds. It was cool, but still warm for the time of year, so I assume it was a warm front passing over. With the light of dawn, I could see we had a nice, clear morning....with a full moon setting in the west.
A full moon? That means we'll have two this month. One very near the new year.
ETA: Evidently, the full moon was Monday. In November.
