Still well done, even at that time.

Did you go anywhere in particular?

I went to my mum's but she did not seem all that keen to see me as she was in a bad mood so I just went for a wander. Probably illegal but frankly if there were any police looking for lockdown breakers at that time I'd have told them then should have had better things to do.

Was it a nice evening? Did you feel peaceful? I love walking at night...

It was nearly four in the morning and rather windy but yeah, it wasn't bad. I found somewhere with lots of trees .. a place I spent a lot of time as a teenager.

But are you not allowed to go out at least one time a day? Either to take a walk or to shop food. (My daughter sometimes goes out two times but don't tell anyone. Those CCTV cameras make me think of Big Brother seeing everything.)

Those CCTV cameras make me think of Big Brother seeing everything. I don't think anyone looks at them any more unless a crime is committed.

I'm confused. Are taxis still operating? How can you stay 2m apart in a taxi?

She wonders if these cameras supervise all who are going out, checking if they go out more than once a day, if you go too far etc. She is afraid of being stopped by a policeman telling her she is too far from home. She likes to take long walks.

Shopkeepers, pubs and gyms sometimes check CCTV cameras on their premises and the police check for traffic congestion but they simply do not have the time to look at CCTV cameras in the street, let alone analyse the signals. Only if there has been a robbery or some other crime and only then as evidence.

I am? I didn't know that. I've learnt this from experience and by keeping my ears and eyes open.

I’ve been out Once this weekend and “most” everyone seems to respect the distance from each other. I had to goto the door store yesterday to finalize my new front door purchase and to approve the crew to replace it.

And, again...we do not yet know with assurance that herd immunity can even be attained with the present novel coronavirus. Indeed, nor do we know that a vaccine will protect us for sufficient time before the virus mutates into variant the vaccine doesn't protect us from. The WHO is advising caution on this. Nor are we assured that an effective vaccine can even be developed.

Back to previous remarks - whilst I suppose I was not really doing anything illegal - and I doubt the taxi driver, whom I am acquainted with, gave a shit - I suppose it wasn't really an essential journey.

I know taxi drivers have got to make a living but I'm just stunned that they are still allowed to operate. How can they stay 2m from their customers? And keep their cars clean after each customer?

Back to previous remarks... I suppose it wasn't really an essential journey. It was essential for your health, in your state of mind. In which case, the taxi driver was acting legally too.

Was there a barrier between the driver and the passenger?

I think taxis here have barriers now.

Yes, it is essential to get outside in the fresh air. Otherwise people would only be allowed to go out to the grocery and pharmacy. Anyway, people are now allowed to go outside twice a day. But it must be a real drag for people living alone not to be able to meet friends and family.
