I think what they are trying to say is... "DETAILS! DETAILS!" Ahem, well.. we met at one of our regular meetings of freethinkers.. we used to hold those once a week on Sundays (now they're mostly irregular).. she told me she didn't want to come and was dragged by her friends the first time, when we met..

Sounds like this is going to need it's own thread (if not a forum!)

umm, she likes writing poetry and making posters (and discussing politics).. she's working for now, but intends to study psychology at uni later.. she escaped from home when she was 15, because of her father's abuse, traveled all the way to the capital (almost got raped on the way), and lived in a charity home for several years until she completed high school.. she speaks Berber (Rifian dialect) as a native language.. Any other details you want to know?

Okay, our first date was on the beach.. I'm not even sure we agreed it was a date.. it's like we slowly slipped into the relationship.. by the third time we went out together we were already in.. she's a bit naive when it comes to relationships with people, always doing good to people and helping them and thinking they will respond in like manner, which is why she's often disappointed and gets depressed.. but as soon as she gets back to her normal self, she starts all over again.. I suppose it has to do with the fact that she was born and raised in a small village, with simple people who share the same values.. and despite living in a big city for more than a decade she couldn't change her habits or her core values.. in fact, she left Islam mainly because of those values.. Berber culture, according to what she said, grants equal rights to women and men, contrary to Islam.. she's very attached to her native place, and everything related to it, and in general she's so passionate about things she likes, that it drives her crazy sometimes.. she would wake up occasionally crying just because she saw me or someone from her family dead or injured.. basically she's constantly haunted by the idea that she will lose something or someone dear to her.. which is why she also gets very jealous of any girl I talk to.. that is even though I told her I was bisexual and could get attracted to males as well.. she thought I was joking the first time..

well I wish you both well. I hope, too, that you can both one day live in a country where you can be free - to be atheist, to be bisexual, to be anything you like.

Well, I said raised religious, though it started late. Mom and Dad didn't start sending me to Sunday School until I was 9. By my late teens, I didn't enjoy going to church anymore and avoided it when I could, but I wouldn't say I was atheist just yet. That came somewhere during my college and military time. Now I'm atheist and not going back.
