I'm not very good looking, but then at my age no one really thinks about me like that anyway.

I honestly have no idea. Probably average. But as I have never really been interested in relationships and sex I tended to avoid situations that would let me know.
Oh, and right now my face is covered in scales, which might impact first impressions.

Men (not that I am saying that you lot are NOT stunningly gorgeous but it's also weird that women underrate themselves as I know that both Kye and Miisa are v attractive but they described as plain)

Oh, and right now my face is covered in scales, which might impact first impressions. Scales?? As in a fish? Well, flakes might describe it better. My psoriasis has sought high ground, abandoning my limbs and torso and instead colonizing my head, including my scalp, ears, eyebrow area and eyelids.

I have creams and lotions, most of which shouldn't be used on the face, as they thin the skin. Tried asking the doctor the other day if there is anything better out there since those were prescribed, but he took one look at me and referred me to a dermatologist. Which is available in August. But I'm not too fussed. I stay home, mostly, and only traumatize people when I take my sunglasses off.

Is it worse in the summer? I had a dermatologist when I was a teenager, for my acne in that case. They were very helpful

does moisturiser help?

It helps. Not as much as the prescription stuff, though. But while meds will reduce it down to essentially just red rough patches of skin for a while, as soon as I stop (and all the medications say to use for only one or two weeks each) it turns back into that, and usually bigger after each course of medication. The meds have a rebound effect, meaning they actually can make it worse in the long run. Which is why I was hoping for some new progress in the field. Unlikely, though, but the doc did suggest I might get some UV light treatments or something.

I tried UV light for my acne .. I had a portable light box. To be honest it did not help much (tho I did get a nice tan) but then acne and psoriasis are prolly not the same thing (well obviously they are not the same thing; I mean, they probably are not treated in the same way)

My ex had very bad psoriasis everywhere (and I do mean everywhere). He had very good results using a light box. And every few years he'd go to Israel and bake in the sun at the Dead Sea. When he did that, it would go away for a year or so. It always came back though and for him it was quite stress related.

A friend of mine who used to live in the room above me had that all over her face and shoulders on a pretty permanent basis. She used to get the most hurtful things shouted at her in the street and treated terribly for it. It is a shame as she was a very nice person and didn't deserve the abuse.

I had a small patch of psoriasis on my left leg (about 2" across) that disappeared when I treated it with cream. It came back when I stopped but after several attempts it disappeared permanently.

Psoriasis is chronic, so if it really was that you still have it under the surface, or it could have been eczema. I was symptom-free (except for my ears) for five years, and the ones on my arms and legs I managed to evict completely. Unfortunately, they apparently took refuge on my head. But not really complaining, as my sisters have worse infestations, if on less visible areas. Didn't mean to hijack, please go back to gorgeousnesses.
