OK now I regret that. Massive pic stretches the thread and mangles the formatting.

I have mixed feelings about salmon. For the price I could get better fish I think. That being said I picked up some cheap haddock fillets a cpl weeks ago and tried to fry them in some oil and they fell apart! I ate them anyway but not sure what I did wrong

Some fish fall apart quite easily. Cod does too. But I love it, on butter. It needs nothing else. I like salmon though probably prefer smoked salmon in general. But it goes so nicely with leek and leek was on bonus. I did consider doing another fish today. Altough the salmon doesn't seem more or less expensive than the other fish they offer. Except for the cheapest white fishes.

If I try haddock again I might be better to foil wrap it then shallow fry it in the foil.

I have to say, my salmon with the leek and taters was delish! Better even than I was expecting. Poor Ronald still not home. Signal failure and had to wait ages for a train. On his way now. But I was getting too hungry. At least he'll have his dinner ready and waiting when he does get in. The good thing was because of the delay the potato slices cooked really well and got nice and crispy. Nommy.
The only annoying thing is that I find salmon really smelly as a fish. When I wash the dishes they still seem to smell, no matter how much I wash them in hot water and detergent. Even the knife smells of it. I don't find that so much with other fish. I might have to spray it with some vinegar water.

We have a special magnetic stone for cooking smells. Just rub your hands and cutlery on it and the smell goes away.

Ah I saw one of those once at work. We had this "communication" learning day or something. Anyway, we were all given this thing and nobody knew what it was. Then we were asked to say something about it. I said it was oval and shiny. I was one of the few people who didn't make any judgements. Apparently that was the point - that most people make judgements or give meaning to stuff. The woman said police tended to be analytical about it too.

Poor Ronald still not home. Signal failure and had to wait ages for a train. On his way now. But I was getting too hungry. Has he got home yet? Or have you had to eat his portion?

I would never eat his portion! I would even share my last rollo with him. He is home, he ate. He liked it. Now he is trying to load up some game on his computer. Rome total war or something.
