Very damp...torrentially damp, yesterday. Today just damp with sun breaks.

Lovely sunny and cold. If I still feel well this afternoon I will go for a nice invigorating walk

Equinox is Wednesday, folks. It is slated for 2:58 PM here, PDT.
Adjust your clocks and expectations accordingly.

Why do we adjust our clocks for an equinox?

It's a hangover from the past. You have to adjust your sundial by one quarter turn.

I wonder if they do that at the clinic. They have a sundial there.

Our clocks adjust the first weekend of April. Back to winter time.

There's a big sundial in Bracknell that has the times for BST and GMT on it. It seems adding 1 during the summer is too complicated! It's certainly too big to move though!

My parents just flew to Hawaii - they ended up further back in the past then when they left!! So funny. This evening, they were still in yesterday! Time is funny.

So, we're past the equinox already - it was on 20th March (UK time) this year. Welcome to longer days than nights in the Northern Hemisphere!

Wow! Resurrected Thread from 2018! I love that!

The thing about equinoxes is they keep happening even if we don't keep the threads alive

Our little one wakes up early now. A little too early, even for my taste.

Vernal equinox was at 15:33 UTC yesterday (Sunday 20th March 2022). Welcome to spring, peoples! (or autumn for you southern-hemisphere types).

We have been experiencing very Spring-like weather in the past few days. I'm aware it could change any day now but we're enjoying it while it lasts.

Rather cold and rainy here lately.

We're alternating 'nice' days with 'dreary' days. Temperatures are easing up, but still a mite cool on the dreary days. It's definitely spring and has been since early February.

'Tis the Equinox. Demonstrate for equal nights...or, against them, if that floats your boat.
Here in the northern hemi, we have come over to the dark side and will continue to darken. Autumnal equinox is slated for 6:03 pm PDT.

Not yet. Pretty much definitely autumn now / still. Trees are brown or golden (or green) depending on their natures. Ponds are full of leaves. Yards are full of the sounds of leaf blowers.

No leaf blowers here. Yet.

I wish autumn was here. To hot for that yet. I don’t expect autumn to happen until mid October this year. I will probably go back to Colorado to see the changing leaves.

It's crap here right now - dark and getting cold and lots of nasty months ahead. I will perk up round Christmas and then go down again

I agree, it has been this week but today will be a bit brighter and more cheerful if we stay inside the house. I'm taking a young driver out for a run in the country this morning and will make sure the car heating system is working.
