Yes but Canada is also usually much cooler than here. I wished I was in Canada in the summer. The rain still has not come for here.

Very true! Last year my AC was broken all summer and it wasn't fun trying to sleep...

Much cooler yesterday than normal. Was nice. Have not been out today yet as I have not felt well enough yet.

We almost had a heatwave during the past three days. According to the met office, three days in a row with a maximum temperature of 25°C constitutes a heatwave in our part of the UK. Three days!? I would expect it to be at least a week. Heatwaves come cheap in the UK.

The Finnish term for this is helle.

Very appropriate. We've had 27 degrees for 3 days in a row and today is the 4th. I suppose this is a heatwave then.

We've been having 30+ weather for the last week or so, so definitely a heat wave here

In the UK, the temperature London has to reach before it is classed as a heatwave is higher than 25°C, probably 28° or even 30°, I can't remember. The crucial thing is that heatwaves in the UK today only need to last three days. I remember the heatwave in 1976 that seemed to last all summer, about six weeks, but only officially lasted 15 days. We were gasping halfway through. Engineers in the computer room had the best job because the mainframe computers had to be air conditioned.

We are in the middle of high heat indexes. But I don’t mind these days.

Partly cloudy, partly sunny, with periods of rain and thunder. Cooler than it has been, not surprisingly.

Mother nature has finally stopped baking Kansas. It got down to 85°F (29.4°C) last week, and has stayed in the 70'sF all weekend. I had to put on a sweater.

We've got 2 hot days, which I can live with, with high atmospheric moisture conditions, which I can't. Just lifting a finger makes everything stick to your clothes, sofa, etc.

It's more a case of having lunch when the good weather ends. I'm up early this morning (couldn't sleep) and have changed into my gardening clothes. (That counts as gardening even if I'm on the computer )

Prospects for Bank Holiday Monday in Marple: a bit cold, a bit windy, a bit gloomy but probably not a lot of rain.

We had a reminder of summer last Friday, 6 Sept. with a high of 23°C but on Wednesday this week it will feel like winter, with a high of 10°C (feels like 8°C), and with rain and strong winds to boot. It has changed so quickly with the nights drawing in so rapidly.
