I wish I liked bananas more. They are healthy, cheap and a good source of calories if you need them (which i don't ). I am just not keen on the taste

My cavies alway squeak for it, but then will sniff it and turn their noses away. They won't even nibble.

Jessica (Rabbit) used to enjoy bananas, but there was no point in buying them just for her as most of them would go to waste otherwise as they'd go nasty much more quickly than she'd eat them.

couldn't you buy just one banana? And maybe slice it into bits and freeze the rest of it?

Never thought you could freeze them. It's a moot point now she is dead anyway.

Why is there no poll option for "yellow, bendy, good source of potassium, reassuringly phallic, and with many other uses too"?

Most of the options a bit like that. None of them are much like it.
Sometimes I think these polls are just an attempt to increase post count.

Fried bananas in butter with golden syrup makes an excellent pancake filling, and I loooove banana cake.
I rarely eat raw bananas though, cos they'd have to be just the right ripeness... too ripe and I do the gagging thing, too.

Awww soo cyooot! Porcupines are cute. Are they bigger than hedgehogs? I was shocked when I saw a hedgehog here in the Netherlands, at how tiny it was. I had only seen Aussie echnidnas up until then so had no idea the sizes were any different. I had the exact opposite with penguines. I had only seen the cute little fairy penguines before and was shocked when I saw some big ones here at the zoo in Amsterdam. They were scary!

If there are any other people of my generation (Steve?) reading this they will probably remember being introduced to bananas for the first time after the war.

My dad gave me his first banana when I was about one year old and I proceeded to squish it in my hand instead of eating it. I probably enjoyed it.

I think I've mentioned this before: bananas to you were like apples to me. We grow bananas in Taiwan, but apples were imported when I was a kid: my parents would buy one for us to try it only when we were sick.

Well I just ate a banana. While I was eating it I made the mistake of trying to open the window to air the house a little. It is extremely windy here today. We have one of those windows where you pull the handle 90 degrees and it will open the window fully sideways, or you can pull the handle 180 degrees and it will just open up the top half of the window so it leans in a bit. Well of course I was only doing it with one hand since the other had a banana, and the wind is directly into this window, and I was pulling the handle 180 degrees but the window jumped out as soon as I had reached 90 because of the wind pushing against it. So Now the window is open on three corners and I can't get it back.

Of course I blame the banana.

Yes and yes. Ronald had to fix it when he got home and almost broke his back. But it's fixed now. The house has been very aired through.

I once had those windows when I was renting a room. The people in the room opposite managed to bend the fittings so the window wouldn't close at all. Can be a very expensive thing to break so, next time, no bananas while operating them!

We've had them for most of my life. I never wrecked one and I did loads of things while opening them. Though probably not eating a banana. It was a very strong wind today though! I can imagine the window being impossible to close when the wind hits it head on.

Yeah, it's not the first time I've had the window jiggle out of place like that because I wasn't careful and it opened up fully when I was trying to get it open only at the top, but normally I can jiggle it back in. But yesterday was impossible.

I hate those windows btw. Why can't they just make normal windows that you can slide open? Then I could open the window as little or much as I like. I hate now that when it's cold I can't just open the window a small amount to let a breath of air in.
