I had a minor crush on Wesley when I was 15, but Jake isn't as obviously smart as Wesley was. He's just a nice kid.

I never saw Weasley as smart, just very, very, very annoying!

I liked it season 1 enough though The only things that really annoy me are the horrible fighting scenes where everyone just stands waiting to be shot and Sisko's horrible tone of voice. Very flat. Though he has shown that he can act. Remind me about the fighting in the first series. I can't remember. I think Sisko's voice is quite musical actually.

Well, every time someone has to fire a laser, they point and their victim just stands there for a couple of seconds waiting. Then the beam comes and they keel over in some over the top way. It's the waiting that annoys me. You'd think they'd have the sense to duck back into hiding after firing.
Sisko's voice is okay, but if he has to say a lot in the earlier episodes, it sounds a bit like a drone. It gets better further on. I've now almost finished season 2 and it seems like he is more comfortable with his role.

I never saw Wesley as smart, just very, very, very annoying! You were never a smart 15 year old girl with nothing much else than Star Trek TNG in her head. NB: corrected his name for you NB2: I didn't like him in the later episodes when he went to the Academy or become a timesomething or other though.

I'll go with Colin on that one. The episode where he was infatuated by a female teenager was too painful to watch.

"Weasley" doesn't need correcting. The spelling was chosen!

Well, you chose it wrong then. So there.

My 'favourite' Wesley episode is the one where he was sentenced to death for breaking a cold frame. I think they should have let the aliens have him. Prime Directive and all that. Actually the whole episode was pretty awful and I now avoid it.

Yes, I found that sickening, too. I wasn't bothered about the cold frame; I'd have been happy for them to just execute him for the hell of it!

*glares at Wesley haters* Didn't exactly hate Wesley. Sometimes he was a alright and sometimes he was a pain. I suppose he was at the mercy of the script writers.

I think he was far to weak as a character to be made as central to the plot as he often was. He was supposed to be clever, but acted like a dim-witted moron too much of the time!

Did not. >_< Bill, I agree they look like a family, but too much of one at times. Too sappy. That said, I quite like them

One small thing I like about ST is that the scriptwriters usually use grammatical English. Just watching an episode of Voyager where B'lanna says like "like you and I" Fail!

When they cast Picard, they made a mistake and said they needed a captain who would Baldly Go!?

That joke would never have happened if they had cast Owen Wilson as Picard! I don't have anything against Owen Wilson, but I imagine a second series of TNG wouldn't have happened either if he'd been cast in that role. I think it wouldn't work.

No, but that's because Stewart is brilliant. Even in Dune, which is about one of the worst sci fi films I've ever seen, he saved the film.

Watching Voyager episode "Tuvix". It is an interesting storyline which I have watched several times. Some of the dialogue however really is dire.

He'd have been brilliant playing any part. It's my favourite too, though lately I've been leaning more towards Voyager. To complicate things, I'm watching DS9 right now.

To mix genres, I saw David Tennant and Patrick Stewart in the production of Hamlet in Stratford-Upon-Avon about 5 years back. I still have a poster of David Tennant in the living room from the production. Because it has been there so long, I don't really register it at all, but if it was removed I would.

Yes, I read about that. Must have been a brilliant match up I saw David Tennant in the mini series Casanova as well. Very well played.

I went more to see Patrick Stewart and Tracy went mostly for David Tenant. ...Other kids (sounding horrendously disappointed later on, after watching a heavy-going Shakespeare play) had gone to see "Doctor Who". I did very well, having booked about 10-11 months in advance and got seats for £20. They were being resold for around £200 at the time. I had told Tracy that she was in serious jeopardy in having to sit next to a total stranger for the evening!
